To Sail Away

This extra large square shows a sailboat on the water. Use it as a baby blanket or join it with other ocean-themed squares for a larger blanket.

Interlocking & Mosaic

Choose your preferred colorwork technique: interlocking crochet or overlay mosaic crochet. You’ll receive both options, so why not try both?

Each file contains the fully written pattern and charts.

Size

Each of these squares is categorized as a baby blanket on its own. With the interlocking crochet technique they begin with 60 windows in the foundation row. The mosaic crochet option is 121 stitches wide.

If you meet gauge, each square will be about 30″ / 7cm. You can use these individually as baby blankets or join them together to create a large one-of-a-kind blanket! See more baby blanket patterns at ashleeslint.com/baby-blanket-patterns

Original Blog Entry

This is the second pattern in my eBook, More in the Ocean.

I don’t do a lot of boating here in Saskatchewan. We mostly have wheat fields. There are a few bodies of water that people use for recreation but it has never been a top interest of mine.

I don’t think this sailboat is going very fast because the water looks quite calm.

Thank You, Testers!

To Sail Away was tested by CynCityCrochet and Angela Kermack. Thank you!

It’s always interesting to see what the wrong side of the interlocking crochet version will look like (thanks for showing us both sides!).

If you use the mosaic technique like Angela Kermack did then the back will just be striped.

Angela Kermack used a light cream as the Main Color (MC) in her mosaic sample of To Sail Away.

Important Pattern Details for “To Sail Away”

Like all my designs, you’ll receive multiple files with the purchase of this pattern.

You will get one file for the interlocking crochet technique and one file for the overlay mosaic crochet technique.

Coming soon: I will be updating this pattern (and many others) to have a second mosaic crochet option where I’ll adjust the charts to be solid. Read more about the different techniques at https://ashleeslint.com/tutorials/interlocking-and-mosaic-crochet/.
