May Cat
“May Cat” was based off a traditional quilting block & is the 5th design in my “2022: A Year of Cats” series of interlocking & overlay mosaic crochet patterns!
Interlocking & Mosaic
You’ll have your choice of colorwork technique: interlocking crochet or (solid) overlay mosaic crochet. Both techniques come with the fully written pattern and charts.
Learn more about these at https://ashleeslint.com/tutorials/interlocking-and-mosaic-crochet/
Size
All the squares in this series are large squares.
These squares begin with 40 windows when you use the interlocking crochet technique.
The overlay mosaic crochet version has a chart size of 77 x 77 and begins with 79 stitches in the foundation row (to account for the chart stitches and the Joining and Ending Stitch on each side).

You’ll also have access to my Doctor Who blanket pattern!
Welcome to May!
There are four cats on this month’s square! No matter which way you turn it, someone is staring at you.
This square was based on a quilt block. I have a few quilting-inspired designs now: Bonnet Girl Blanket, Double Wedding Rings, and now this May Cat!
If you’ve purchased the eBook (2022: A Year of Cats) on Ravelry, Etsy, or by direct purchase from my website, then you should have received your update. 2nd Year Designaversary Update
Thank you for such a wonderful April! It was so much fun celebrating my 2nd Year Designaversary and remembering all the progress I’ve made. I was also able to give away a bunch of patterns and I will be doing a live giveaway for my Grand Prize on YouTube tomorrow (it’s almost midnight on the 30th of April for me as I post this)! (Expired)
May Cat Testers
Thank you to my bundle of testers! You all did a great job and it helps me more than you know to have the peace of mind that I have such a trustworthy team!
I am using black yarn for the Main Color in all my squares but I love to give my testers free range on color choice and you can see in these photos below that both Maja Serec and CynCityCrochet have used grey/black as their second color instead.
Which colors would you use?
