Originally published in May 2021 as a large square, GoldieLux now includes a file with just the repeatable section so you can make it whatever size you want.
The pattern has been updated on Ravelry and all four files are available to those who previously purchased.

Interlocking & Mosaic
Whether you want to make the original square or use the new repeatable pattern, you have your choice of colorwork technique: interlocking crochet or overlay mosaic crochet.

A year has gone by, and I recently used the overlay mosaic version of GoldieLux in a YouTube tutorial on how to read a chart with X’s (see here).
While filming that video I realized that although I had originally designed this pattern to be the same size as my other 40-window squares (chart size of 81 x 81), the design could be extracted in an easily repeatable form and then you could make it any size you wanted!
So, that’s what I have finally checked off my list! The pattern now comes with four files:
- Written pattern and chart for original 40-window square, interlocking crochet
- Updated repeatable pattern and chart, interlocking crochet
- Written pattern and chart for original square (chart 81 x 81), overlay mosaic crochet
- Updated repeatable pattern and chart, overlay mosaic crochet

Important Details
Repeatable GoldieLux 40 comes with the fully written pattern and charts for two colorwork techniques: interlocking crochet and overlay mosaic crochet. (Looking for details on the Original GoldieLux Square?)

Interlocking Crochet Details
- Chart (one visual repeat) is 27 x 91
- Gauge: 8 (dc, ch) x 8 rows = 4”
- One visual repeat 7″ x 23″ / 17cm x 58cm
- 4.5 mm hook (US7)
- Worsted weight yarn (for one visual repeat)
- Main color (MC) – 100 yards
- Accent color (AC) – 100 yards
Overlay Mosaic Crochet file includes:
- line-by-line written pattern (view key)
- instructions for optional envelope border (view)
- instructions on reading a chart (view)
- a one-page color-coded chart marked with X’s
Bottom-Up Mosaic Crochet Details
- Repeatable section on chart is 20 x 44
- Gauge: 15 sc blo stitches x 16 rows = 4”
- Each repeat adds 5″ x 11″ / 13cm x 28cm
- Final non-repeatable section adds 3″ x 2″
- 5 mm hook (H-8)
- Each repeat adds: worsted weight yarn
- Main color (green) – 95 yards
- Contrasting color (white) – 70 yards
