November Cat Face: Another Bonus Square

This cute little kitty cat is more my style (compared to the square I just published a few days ago: November Cat).

You can use this square to replace one of the original cat squares in the 2022: A Year of Cats series. Or you can use it with “November Cat” to create a pillow or a bag that shows off both sides of the cat.

Photo above shows one side of my bag and a single square. The bag was done using the overlay mosaic crochet technique and I worked both sides at the same time in a tube format so there are no cut ends to worry about.

I used 100% cotton fingering weight yarn and a 3 mm hook to create my bag. It is a good size, not too stretchy, and not too heavy.

I crocheted my interlocking sample of “November Cat Face” using bulky weight yarn and a 6.5 mm hook. I created a little video on Instagram showing the size differences:

I debated on whether or not to add this pattern to the eBook. I don’t want people to feel overwhelmed or confused with these extra squares. You were expecting only 12 cat squares.

But I also don’t want people to feel like I’m trying to squeeze every last dollar out of you. And this cat belongs with my other cat squares even if he isn’t part of my official blanket design.

In December the eBook will have one file with all 12 official cat squares plus an all-in-one blanket pattern for each technique (interlocking crochet and overlay mosaic crochet). And I will have one file for each crochet technique containing the bonus patterns (that is “Bonus Scratch Cat”, “November Cat Face”, and an all-in-one blanket pattern for the “Love mini-series”).
