Moon Fairy Boy
This large throw blanket depicts a boy fairy sitting on a crescent moon. This is an alteration from my original Moon Fairy pattern that I published in 2020.
The original girl version didn’t get a webpage (because I didn’t have a website then), so I’ve added those details at the bottom of this page as well.
Large Throw
This is one of my larger patterns. However, I still consider it a throw blanket because it’s square.
Custom Work
When I first created Moon Fairy (Girl) it was a custom request. The blanket was taller because it had a name on the bottom.
I removed the name to make this pattern available for everyone.
Then, years later, I received a request to edit it and make it look like a boy instead. Officially I don’t do custom designs anymore, but since that seemed relatively easy I decided to go for it.
Thus, both versions started as custom work but are now available for anyone.

Important Details for Moon Fairy Boy
As always, this design comes with the fully written pattern and charts for two colorwork techniques: interlocking crochet and overlay mosaic crochet.

Brackets
Brackets are used in the written pattern to indicate repeated sections. See my detailed explanation: https://ashleeslint.com/2020/08/29/brackets-in-crochet-patterns/ or watch it in action with this mosaic crochet sample at https://youtu.be/IW-vtpHTIjs.
Interlocking Crochet

Moon Fairy (Girl)
Originally this pattern didn’t have the word girl after it. But once I created the boy version I thought it might help to distinguish between them.

When I create the updated, solid mosaic crochet option I will send a newsletter announcing it and those who have already purchased the pattern will be entitled to the update.
Where’s Ravelry’s purchase link?
Back in 2020 when I was creating patterns prolificly I upset some people who claimed I couldn’t possibly be making all of them myself. They deleted “Moon Fairy” for that reason.
If it happened now I would probably fight harder but at the time I was new to it all and quite hurt at the situation so I just left it.
Pretty much ALL my other patterns are on Ravelry and I know many of you prefer to keep your Ravelry library complete so I apologize for the lack of Ravelry for this pattern.
Important Details for Moon Fairy (Girl)
Once again, this design comes with the fully written pattern and charts for two colorwork techniques: interlocking crochet and overlay mosaic crochet.
This is one of my older designs so it uses the same chart for both techniques – this means you’ll see the interlocking mesh dots when you crochet the mosaic option. The mosaic charts do have X’s on them. This design is on my to-do list to get updated with a solidified mosaic crochet option.
