Last year I came out with a series of 15 holiday squares. I have just updated one of the squares: Hanukkah 40.

They were all on a chart size of 81 x 81 which means they begin with 40 windows when you use the interlocking technique. Whether you use the interlocking crochet technique or the overlay mosaic crochet technique these squares will be about 20″ square when you meet my gauge.

The problem I had when creating the Hanukkah design was that it was just a smidge too big for the chart. I decided to cut off the bottom tip of the star because it was more important that all the squares were the same size (for joining into a blanket).

It turns out that people like turning this square into a wall hanging and on its own it doesn’t make sense for the bottom point to be cropped off.

So I have updated this square to be a rectangle!

The chart is now 81 x 87. It adds about 2″ to the height. The written instructions are made for the interlocking crochet technique or the overlay mosaic crochet technique. The mosaic chart has X’s showing the dropped double crochets.

I have added this updated file to the ravelry listing for the individual square and the eBook. If you purchased the eBook on Etsy and you’d like this updated rectangle please send me a message!
